Disc brakes are all the rage these days, and for good reason. They offer great braking in all weather, especially mud-laden cyclocross, dusty gravel races, and cold winter training rides. What do disc brake bikes deserve more than anything? A great set of wheels.
Lucky for you, we offer our Stinger wheels with a disc brake option. Featuring our own hub set and compatibility with all 9, 10, and 11-speed systems, you can upgrade your bike to the latest tubular technology. Front hubs are convertible between 100mm QR and 15mm thru axle, while rear hubs can convert between 135mm QR and 142x12mm thru axle. Shimano Centerlock rotor compatibility only.
The Stinger 3 & 5 Disc Brake are also available in special "CX" version. These feature a wider tire bed specifically made for wide pavé and cyclocross tubular tires, while the standard Stinger 3 and 5 are optimized for 25mm-and-smaller tires.
- For all types of bicycle wheels, a hard strike on the rim is likely to result in rim damage. At the point of impact, an aluminum rim will dent, and a carbon rim may delaminate - both are unsafe conditions that require rim replacement.
